Read MoreAbout a year in the making, this incredible rendition of the “pork burger” by Rogue Bantha is at 1/72 scale, and from what I can see looks pretty darn accurate. Yes, there’s two official sets at about this scale (well, quite a bit bigger), and you may have been temporarily confused when you saw this, but this one is hand crafted by a fan, and I’m a fan of that fan.
One of the things I love about this ever expanding series by builder dib b is the fact that the Millennium Falcon is slightly different in every one (no really, look at the previous builds). This one is from my favorite scene in The Force Awakens, with Rey and Fin escaping Jakku aboard the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy.
I am absolutely adoring this series by did b, with the Millennium Falcon in all of it’s different environments, and I think this one is my favorite yet. Such an iconic image from the greatest movie of all time, instantly recognizable and gives me a full body squee. My one question is “you came in that thing?" You’re braver than I thought.
I’m really digging this series of Millennium Falcon MOCs by builder DID&THEBRICKS, all micro, all from my favorite movies, all perfect. This one is from Mos Eisley Spaceport, that despite being a wretched hive of scum and villainy is one of my favorite environments in the Star Wars universe (well, not the special edition version). This is where we meet Han, Chewie and the faster hunk of junk in the galaxy.
The moment I saw this picture by builder did b I was instantly transported to a galaxy far, far away. This is one of those scenes in Empire Strikes Back that I have to watch every time. You know what I mean, you may seen a movies hundreds of times, but there’s those few scenes that you just have to watch no matter what you’re doing. Like the Ferrari out the window in Ferris Bueller (spoilers) or the kitchen scene in Gremlins, it’s just what you do. And now, I think it’s time to watch Empire on this rainy Sunday morning.
Spoiler alert, the Empire has built a second Death Star. And what do you do when the Empire builds a large doomsday machine? You blow it up. This excellent MOC by builder did b depicts the epic battle at the climax of ROTJ, where three simultaneous conflicts happen, Luke fights Darth Vader, the rebel fleet takes on the Imperial fleet, and a bunch of teddy bears kick some stormtrooper butt. And of course Lando and Wedge fly right into the Death Star, and cause just a little havoc.
One awesome MOC, many awesome LEGO scenes. When you build one room from Cloud City, you gotta build 'em all! Forgotten Days made this massive diorama that packs in many details, and almost allows you to recreate a large portion of the Empire Strikes Back. I don't know about you, but I'd like to join Mr. Calrissian for a tour...
At first glance you might think this MOC by city son is just a graphic or painting, then you start seeing studs and think it's bricks arranged around a graphic. Then you see that the Falcon itself is also bricks and find yourself going "whoaaaa". It's unconventional yes, not so much built as arranged, but it's still LEGO, and it's friggin' awesome.
You can almost hear AC/DC playing the Star Wars theme when you see this latest creation by Zane Houston. Apparently there's a Millennium Falcon contest on TBB, and it's generating all sorts of cool stuff. But what I like about this in particular, besides the clever mash up, is how well it reflects the styles of both genres. As if Tony were Corellian or something. Would that make Pepper a Princess?
Adam Dodge is getting in on the Star Wars action by creating this entry for the Brothers Brick Falcon Contest. Perhaps this treehouse that Han Solo played in as a child set him on the inevitable path of one day winning the Milennium Falcon from Lando Calrissian. I find this entry to be very creative, and quite well done, considering Adam had to fit the shaping of the Falcon into a treehouse design. Can't imagine that was an easy task!
Cecilie Fritzvold took two iconic ships from the Star Wars universe, and though the ships may oppose each other, combined them into something rather creative. Built for racing, not fighting, "the Boba" is a combo (obviously) of the Slave I and the Falcon. The unusual blending of sand green, red, and gray is a very interesting design choice. It also appears to be at a challenging scale, yet Cecilie pulled off many of the iconic details quite well.
What's this? Is it a Corellian freighter from a galaxy far, far away? No, it's avocado toast and a pumpkin spice latte taking a selfie courtesy of the wonderfully bent sense of humor of Melan-E and Ochre Jelly. Speaking of Corellian freighters, did you know our pals at Brothers Brick are giving away one? All you have to do is build your own, so get to it.
Tested.com has unveiled the first premium episode of our epic two day, 12 hour build of the UCS Millennium Falcon. I've been a Tested premium subscriber for some time, and I highly recommend it. It's only $40 a year and that buys you hours and hours of viewing on a regular basis plus an exclusive gift every year. Not only is there LEGO With Friends, there's all kinds of cool stuff for tech heads, nerds, makers and gamers. For more details head over to Tested.com.
After much anticipation, after much debate, after endless arguing among the fans, it can finally be revealed that the rumors are true...there's a new UCS Millennium Falcon on the way, and it's glorious. Not only is it way more accurate and detailed than the original, it's got two configuration, as it appeared in Empire Strikes Back and The Force Awakens (and The Last Jedi). There's also some limited interior details you can access through removable panels.
At 7541 pieces it's also the largest LEGO set ever produced. So large in fact they've developed special packaging to allow you to actually wheel it out of the LEGO Store like carryon luggage. But you'll have to wait just a bit for it, it's not out until October 1st. And I was serious about the saving the pennies part, it costs a whopping $799US. But hey, the biggest set ever should have the biggest price tag ever right?
Here's some features...
• Includes 4 classic crew minifigures: Han Solo, Chewbacca, Princess Leia and C-3PO.
• Also includes 3 Episode VII/VIII crew minifigures: Older Han Solo, Rey and Finn.
• Figures include a BB-8 droid, 2 buildable Porgs and a buildable Mynock.
• Exterior features include intricately detailed and removable hull panels, a lowering boarding ramp, concealed blaster cannon, 4-minifigure cockpit with detachable canopy, interchangeable round/rectangular sensor dishes, upper and lower quad laser cannons, and 7 landing legs.
• Main hold features a seating area, Dejarik holographic game, combat remote training helmet, engineering station with turning minifigure seat and a doorway build with passageway decoration.
• Rear compartment features the engine room with hyperdrive and console, 2 doorways, hidden floor compartment, 2 escape pod hatches, engineering console and an access ladder to the gunnery station.
• Gunnery station features a minifigure gunner’s seat and detachable hull panel with fully rotating quad laser cannon. An additional quad laser cannon is also mounted on the underside.
• Also includes an informational fact plaque.
• Features a new cockpit canopy element.
• Classic crew weapons include Han’s blaster pistol and Chewbacca’s stud-firing bowcaster.
• Episode VII/VIII crew weapons include Han’s blaster, Rey’s small silver blaster and Finn’s medium blaster rifle.
• Change out the features and crew characters to switch between classic and Episode VII/VIII versions of the Millennium Falcon!
• Open individual hull panels to access the detailed interior while retaining the overall exterior appearance.
• Slide the panel to reveal the concealed blaster cannon.
• Turn classic Leia’s and Han’s head to reveal their breathing mask decoration.
• Makes the perfect intergalactic toy or flagship display model.
• Measures over 8” (21cm) high, 33” (84cm) long and 22” (56cm) wide.
Instead of waiting for the heavily rumored return of the UCS Millennium Falcon, builder K Yousef took matters into his own hands and crafted his own. And while it might be a bit smaller than the UCS, this one has a pretty decked out interior. Click through for more pictures of everyone's favorite piece of junk.
Just last night I was having a snack while watching Star Wars The Force Awakens and lamenting the fact that I don't have a coffee table. That got me thinking about what kind of table I would want, and I really had no clue. But thanks to builder lysanderchau I have a better idea. Check out this UCS Millennium Falcon coffee table! When faced with the difficult challenge of available space in small Hong Kong apartments lysanderchau solved the problem by building this combination display/table. And sure, you could just put your Falcon in a glass box and have a place for your cheese and crackers, but he also decked it out to look like docking bay 327 on the Death Star!
The Falcon is my favorite ship in the Star Wars universe, and seeing it again in The Force Awakens just about made me cry. There have been countless brick versions of this venerable craft, and I have a new favorite to add to my very short list. This version by marshal banana has the right look, the right proportions and is fully lit, it's epic.
It's no secret (nor a spoiler) that Star Wars The Force Awakens is a thrill ride. Like it's original trilogy predecessors it's an edge of your seat adventure with eye popping action. And this scene depicted by brick.spartan of the Millennium Falcon fleeing TIE fighters on Jakku is one of the best.
I managed to make a new episode! Featuring the Millennium Falcon, WALL-E, BrickStix and Brick Builders Box. Check it out!
